Bug Update

20 Apr

Hubby got Lennon to the ER at about 11pm last night. They checked her in; pulseox said her O2 levels were hovering around 99%, lungs sounded clear, so they sent her to wait in the waiting room. With about 100 other very, very sick sounding people. Hubby said that by the time they got down there her breathing was already a lot better. I have no idea what it was.

He brought her home and we rubbed Vics on her, put some allergen blocker around her nose, cranked up the fan and the humidifier and let her sleep upright in her car seat – this morning she was practically back to normal. For a few hours. Then it started all over again.

I admit that I am quite the worry wart, but Hubby does not freak out easily – and he was FREAKED out last night. He couldn’t get that kid into the car and off to the hospital fast enough. I’m not exaggerating when I say it sounded like she was about to suffocate.

I have no idea what it could be besides allergies. She is extremely fussy, her eyes and nose are red and she keeps rubbing her face. Ideas anyone?

Oh no little one…that’s scary! I have no ideas, but it might be worth a trip to an allergist?

No ideas for you. Sounds like an allergy to me, but I don’t really know. My eldest had terribly weak lungs that ended him up in the ER more times than I care to remember.

The upside is this: he now is just fine.

How scary! It’s so hard to watch them in discomfort esp. when they can’t tell us how they really feel. I’ll think good thoughts for you.

LaLa . . . okay, this may be farfetched but what the hell . . . is there any chance anyone who cares for Lennon (you, hubby, grandparents, etc.) is eating something, and then kissing or nuzzling around Lennon’s mouth/face, and THAT is causing an allergy? I know that people with very sever food allergies to peanuts and shellfish have reported that kissing someone who has ingested the thing that THEY are allergic to can trigger symptoms?

Like I said, farfetched, but I toss it out there.

Other thoughts . . . any work done on the house recently? Has it been very rainy – which can exacerbate mold or other allergens? Since Lennon’s immune system may be a bit more delicate that Evy’s it’s possible for one to have a reaction and not the other.

No ideas on what it could be. I hope she’s feeling better soon. Sucks being sick. As far as Easter and people being around the kids? Totally within your rights to follow everyone around with a bottle of purell asking them to use a little before touching the girls.

Not sure what it could be! I know how scary it is to see you baby struggle to breathe, and it’s one of the worst feelings in the world. Thinking of you! Maybe the pediatrician will have an idea…

No idea, but it does sound like an allergy. Have you introduced new foods or has she been around someone who eats potentially problematic foods (like a pp mentioned)?

Hoping and praying still. And to answer your question. Nothing has changed. Surrogacy is illegal in MI so we can’t call it that. But we’re still moving forward with my friend and for September. Hope that helps!

could be an allergy to something. its very hard to figure out allergies you have to try everything to figure it out.
Foods, laundry detergents, soaps, scents, dust, mold, animals, the list could be endless.
just start eliminating things one at a time.
We have lots of allergies in our house esp. hubby all of the above and many more.
    good luck
