For thank you gifts.
I would like to do something nice for the two girls who are throwing me a baby shower…they are really going all out and I am super, SUPER grateful. Its going to be at a coffee shop downtown…how fun is that!?
I am really trying to think of something other than the usual Bath and Body Works gift basket that I always do for everything….
Some ideas I had were to do an edible fruit arrangement – but those turned out to be over $100 BEFORE shipping and I don’t even know if either girl would really want to eat it. I also thought about massages, but one of the girls already gets them all the time and the other has a two year old…I don’t know that she would ever get to go! lol
So, I need your help. Ideas ladies?
Also, I wanted to mention that I didn’t mean that last post to sound so negative! Actually most of the things I listed were good things really…even Hubby’s car getting totalled – it was a beater car anyway! Sure, its sort of a pain in the butt…but at least it will prompt us to get something more family-friendly. =)
And yes, it cracks me up when people think I’m in labor. Even if they aren’t trying to rush me to the hospital, they are SHOCKED when I tell them I’m not due till December. Tee hee. Although, when I explain that it’s twins everyone then says I look small for twins. Hmmm, make upĀ your minds people!

Spa gift certificates – for a facial, or pedicure/manicure? Gift card for a really nice restaurant that you know they would like? If they have hobbies that you know about, maybe something like that – I’m a knitter and always thrilled when people get me gift certificates for the good wool store in town. It is hard to pick something different – I tend to do the same things all the time, too.
Gift certificates from Amazon.com or as mentioned above, a GC for a restaurant. I nice picture frame? I’m trying to think outside the box a little…… hmmm. Concert tickets at one of the nearby Indian Casinos? They have some great performers and you are located about 1 -2 hours from some great casinos.
I don’t know I’m so bad at these things.
Okay, so I read your blog before going down my blog roll, and I left it up so that while I was reading and commenting on everyone else’s blogs over the last hour and a half I could think of some awesome present for you to give your friends. Know what I came up with? Nothing! I am SO LAME! My only suggestion is to find out what they love and buy them something along those lines. What about a Date Night Movie gift basket or something they can share with their sweeties? I am just lame when it comes to gifts. I really am.
LaLa – Sorry this is off topic, but after your comment do you know I just spent a couple of hours reading all your post from January! I missed a few because I didn’t have the password, but they all kept my interest where I had to just keep reading. I missed a lot in between my 6 months break from TTC!
So in regards to ideas for the gifts – what about baking or cooking them a dish or two – something that people always compliment you for – especially since it’s something that you REALLY enjoy doing. Also… another idea is deconstructing cookies and putting the ingredients into a jar and including instructions on how to make & bake them. I know personally that these went over REALLY well for me at christmas. Also – some of your posts are password protected – what is it? Anywas… I hope you find something to do for your friends, I know that you just want to show your appreciation for all their hard work – as well as letting them know that you love them dearly.
Well if it were me…I love getting manicures and pedicures….maybe a gift certificate to a nice spa to get one? Or I have several friends that are big movie people, I’ve given them movie baskets that include your typical movie candies, popcorn and a dvd or tickets to a local theatre. I’m drawing a blank…that’s about all I can think of right off the top of my head. Let us know what you end up doing though!
((HUGS))
Hmmm, a nice book voucher if they are readers? Spa vouchers ALWAYS work well even for Moms of two year olds
Some nice wine and cheeses?? I like the picture frame idea – maybe you can get a cool pic of the three of you at the shower to put in it?
I am also lame and have no good ideas. Everything everyone else has suggested sounds nice though!
I agree with the group here! Spa gift certificates would be great!!! I can’t wait to hear about the shower, how fun!
teehee-your last paragraph. everyones got an opinion, huh. you look ready to deliver, no wait you look little if it is twins. What?! it cant be both. i guess since there are two it changes peoples analysis. lol.
dont know abot the gifts- perhaps some really nice lipstick and a certificate to their hairsytlist for a cut or something?
good luck
-Faith
I have no idea for thank-you gifts, but please share when you decide!
Yeah, I get all the time, “So when are you due???” As in, are you ready to pop? Then I say the end of December and get that shocked ‘you are huuuuge’ face. So I tell them it’s twins. Then 1/2 of them tell me I’m small for twins. I don’t get it either. I look big enough for a full term, but not for two 1/2 baked babies? Dorks!
Hmmm- that’s a tough one but I’m sure whatever you get them they will appreciate the thought. Do they like any particular restaurants? You could get them a certificate to a place that they maybe wouldn’t normally go, but would if they had a free dinner there? Regardless, I hope you have a great shower – you deserve it!
